MIRROR'S CORNER

HYPNOTIC ALEPPO

Sitting
on my balcony.
Aleppo
comes out of the dark.
Black
and deserted, it spreads before me.
No
sounds. No moves. No noise.
Except
sporadic gunshots
From
nowhere.
And
drones and missiles
Dumping
shells after shells
Dry
coughs are whistled.
Someone
is about to leave the world.
Cries.
Cries. And more cries.
Eventually
becomes a tehee.
In
transit to the new world.
Mothers
waiting for their child.
Who
are already numbers in the news report.
Little
by little
The
darkness began to close in.
