MIRROR'S CORNER

UNFORGIVING

His blood on my hands
I killed him without weapons.

It is true that he did hurt me
Slaughtered my kindness with hatred.

It is true that his acts were dubious
And that his smiles were filled with deception.

But I eventually killed him,
Took his life without remorse.

I took his life with the coalition
Of a pen and a white sheet.

I wrote in disgust of the pain
And hurt that he caused me.

I kept at it till he was no more.
Until he drew his last breath.

I know!
I know I killed him.

I took his life because I was selfish.
I killed him without thinking twice.

Now to penance, I’m given.
To walk the earth seeking redemption.
