Yoruba adage says “Aye lója”. Life is a market indeed, where we exchange resources by barter. Our talents, skills, ideas, and excellent abilities are been exchanged for additional knowledge about others in every sphere of life.
Every individual irrespective of their race, tribe, and culture wanders with his goods in this market for absolute settlement. Though, on the streets, we meet individuals pursuing diverse careers in their various fields of study.
Anyway, the high-class occupy the supermarkets, the middle-class pitch their goods in shops and stalls, while the less privileged begs on these streets to nibble away their daily crumbs. Yet, we find the crowds; the masses. They had lost their focus lenses and a sense of responsibility. They have nothing to pursue nor any drive from behind. They just wander in this market.
Moreover, the market is very noisy accompanied by diverse side attractions. Every focused person is never distracted by what happens around him but craves to get better every day.
Though, there is a lingua franca we speak in this market: The Time Language. Everyone is allocated the same amount of time daily. The way we maximize our time; hence, exchanging it for something worthy-of determines how better we would become.
Conclusively, all our activities in this market are carried out in the day, the night comes when no man can work. We will someday return to our Master through different routes and account for the lives we live while we walk the face of the market because He had sent us to the market for a purpose.
Aye lója, Òrun ni ile!
