EDIFYING

INFIRMITIES IN GLORY

They are set aside,
Charging forth with dignity they
ride
Chosen from the masses, those with
pride
To ascend the authority ladder,
and offenders they chide
Immersed in glory, as wealth
smiles upon them
Overseeing the affairs of the people,
they claim to hold firm
They are called aside,
Those from who are set aside
Knows no suffering, knows no lack
All at their disposal, without a
slight Crack
Availability seems the order of
the day
Unlike a common man, would always
have a say
Getting and spending, they waste
And after one’s life, as lion to
its prey in haste
They are put aside
From their heavy sweat, they drink
Meager and little income, all in a
blink
Down and down, the community
ladder they sink
Restricted and segregated, they are
Like peasants who are wane as cold
tar
Lacking and wanting is all they
get
Fatefully relenting into the
wicked grasp of death
Oh! You who are set aside
Have you not hearts in your
chests?
Running the affairs, you claim
Innocent people and civilians, you
maim
Oh! You who are called aside
Have you not so much in your
chests
Getting and getting, but still
refuse
To help who are put aside, but are
thrown away as refuse
Gracious! Are you, who are put
aside
Rejoice, for you shall abide in
heaven’s nest
Endurance and perseverance, you
had with sufferings
Alas! He would reward you with His
blessings
